Be Courageous!
"Be courageous! Don't lose your ambition because you are petite..."
These were the words my father said to me, right before I got on my first flight to the US to start a new life in 1991. His concerned voice and facial expression vividly played over and over again in my mind over the past three decades.
His encouragement was like a suit of shining armor given to a brave knight, it gave me courage and empowered me to triumph in every job battlefield.
The beginning of Product Design in the US
Jewelry & Watch
After translating five books from English to Chinese, I used the same strategy: portfolio+passion to successfully switch to the field of jewelry and watch design for the next 6 years.
During these years, I completely submerged myself in product development and the design process, even in my dreams.
As a foreigner, without any masters degrees in the US, I couldn't have been more lucky to have found leadership roles, working with other professional talents in big competitive corporations.
It solidly built up my confidence and capability for my next challenge: product invention for aviation industry.

Highlights
I was in charge of developing and designing watches for five different fashion brands including Armani, DKNY, Diesel, Fossil and Relic.
Each brand had five markets each year. My mind was constantly preoccupied with watch innovations, fashion trends and consumer behavior during those watch-obsession years...
There is one Chinese saying:
You can't master a skill unless you are obsessed with it.
My obsession with watch creation not only built up my industrial design skills but also generated over 100 million dollars during my three and a half years of employment at Fossil.

Deconel®
Although life is unpredicatible, we always have an option to stay on the bright side of life. Maybe I was destined to end the watch development career that I loved so much and move on to the next chapter of my life.
Once again, my portfolio+passion opened a new door for me, when I was hired to invent innovative acoustic wall coverings for aircraft.
It needed to be extremely light weight, fire resistant, sound reducing, and artistically custom made. I named it Deconel, and it was patented and trademark registered.

Deconel® has been flying in many airlines and private jets since it was installed on the bulkheads in the first class of twenty American Airlines Boeing 777s in 2007.
It has also appeared in mega yachts, mansions, hospitality buildings...wherever acoustic and artistic wall coverings were desired.

The applications of Deconel® are unlimited. The coverings of these seat pods in the first class of Emirates A380s are not only for reducing noise, they are even embellished with LED lights.

In fact, her disagreement motivated me to make a significant difference in the handmade soap industry. I was determined to raise public awareness of this natural wonder for skincare, the foundation of beauty.
I trademarked my soap BeautyBrick® (under the brand name LiluBulao), with the ambition to introduce cosmetic-grade handmade soap.
My ten years of experience in the private jet industry influenced my focus on luxury products. However, I found there were no quality soapmaking tools available on the market in 2013 to make my dream come true...
So I founded LiluSoap Tools® shortly after to solve my frustration in making consistent and upscale handmade soap in a very efficient way.
