The Antarctic Peninsula is very mountainous, its highest peaks rising to about 2,800 m (9,200 ft). The black and white mountain scenery, with floating blue icebergs in the sea, is truly one of a kind.
The sun was about to set behind the snowy mountains and glaciers. Creating such spectacular shadows in so many shades, from pitch black to pale gray blue, both near and far.
The blue color on the scattering icebergs in the front leads the viewer toward the white snow slope, sculpted ice cliffs, sharp mountain ridges, and the hazy backdrop, full of contrast between light and shadow, soft and hard, smooth and sharp.
